Hi Christina, I see that Andrew Sullivan highlighted a quotation from you in his weekly newsletter sent out Fridays:
"In The ‘Stacks
Christina Rees hears the “primal scream” of the fathers of the Uvalde victims prevented from entering the school. “Graham” defends the cops. With guns now the leading killer of kids and teens, where’s the pro-life movement? David French pushes for “red flag laws.” Jim Swift wants to go slow with gun reform — because incrementalism works. David Lat starts a debate with readers over repealing the Second Amendment."
Hello again...I am thankful and comforted to get the email notice of a new post from you today...the sentence you wrote, in part, about the primal scream you hear from 300 miles away was pretty heavy...deep on a cellular level...thank you...I have nothing helpful or productive to offer that hasn't already been said 16 ways til' Sunday by now...but yes, Humanity, in the Neanderthal/Cro-Magnon sense is still very deep within us and no amount of Kylie Lip Kits will "gloss" over it...haw haw...reading an interview with the local pastor who was inside the recovery center and trying to comfort the kids, until they could be properly reunited with their families, I almost threw up...his description of their behaviors hurt on such a deep level and I truly almost had to vomit...ugh, guns and guns and guns and guns...I grew up in TX...everyone I knew around me had guns except my own father...and his story of going deer hunting for the first time with his future brother-in-law and after shooting a deer, it turned him off so badly that he joined the Sierra Club...I know how I feel about guns and I am not going to change MY mind...and sadly, the ppl who feel so strongly about keeping their guns aren't changing their minds either...so here we are...ok, take care of yourselves everyone...

A million times, yes. Fuck.
Uvalde has a SWAT team, but it's for marijuana arrests and no-knock warrants served at the wrong address.
Well said. Thank you.
Damn straight. I wish I didn't agree with every word you wrote, but I do.
My best friend’s family member was killed in the attack. This is her Go Fund Me page. Please help them if you can: https://www.gofundme.com/f/tess-marie-mata?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet&fbclid=IwAR0g2xQIJ4jYs49hei6RV3OrFcGDEkppXqtCpljUiUpfQ57wBDKjjF4i6LM&fs=e&s=cl
